#Monday Motivation – Unshakable

“…you who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth…” – Psalm 65:5b

It’s another week! A Beautiful one that the Lord has made. Anytime I have the privilege of opening my eyes, I get so excited because of all the possibilities that I can see.

So what about you? Are you excited about the new week? Or are you apprehensive about it? Are you looking at your own capabilities and telling yourself, “No way”? Are you checking out your present circumstances and you just know without a shadow of doubt there’s no way you can achieve all that you have set out to do?

That’s fine. You really don’t need to have it all together. It’s not really about you or your abilities we are talking about here, you know. It’s about God and His immeasurable power. He is able to do so much more than you can imagine. Let your eyes be on him and not on your abilities.

MONDAY MOTIVATION UNSHAKABLE verse

He is the confidence of all the ends of the earth. Make Him your confidence too.

As you move into this week, see yourself riding on the wings of God’s grace and power. Keep your eyes glued to Him for underneath you are His everlasting arms. He can carry you.

Remain unshakable. Keep Your confidence in Him.

Keep Soaring,

Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’ “Nevertheless you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the Lord your God; “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes,

– Deuteronomy 1:21, 29-30 NKJV

Are you ready for the new week?

What are those promises the Lord has given unto you?

Who or what is discouraging you from going in to possess the land?

Why are you afraid?

instaquote-11-04-2016-08-03-34.png

When the Almighty and the Creator of the universe has given you a land to walk into, no one can stop you except yourself.

This week, walk in the knowledge of the fact that the Lord has given you a promise and He’s able to bring it to pass.

Go up and possess that land, that dream, that desire. Don’t be discouraged or terrified. Our God is bigger than any giant that may be staring you in the face.

He has Promised to fight your battles for you.

Be encouraged.

Have a Victory Filled Week,

#Tips Tuesday – Eat That Frog

I have a habit of heading into the kitchen as soon as I finish dinner, drop my plates in the sink and start to wash up. My hubby dearest cannot for the life of him understand why I do things like that.

“Why don’t you rest for a while first?” he would ask.

I usually respond with:

“If I would still be the one to do these dishes, I’d better get them done now”.

I would have you know that my worst chores are things that have to do with washing. Anything that involves getting ones hands wet are the worst chores you could ask me to do. You would never guess though. Why? They are the ones I usually get done first before any others.

This small story is to help you understand better our Tip for today.

eat-the-frog-end-the-fear-300x197Eat That Frog. What does that even mean?

Make it a habit to always tackle the hardest, most complex, but most important task before you first. Ensure that you resist the urge to deal with small and mundane issues first. Whatever you choose on a regular basis will become a part of you and form a habit.

If you keep choosing to address the small tasks that have no consequential bearing on your life purpose and dreams, you risk leaving out and procrastinating on the important issues of your life.

My example on getting the dishes done may seem trivial to you, but if you apply that principle to every important decision of your life, you’ll see that you’ll begin to accomplish more in getting closer to your goals. You cannot afford to keep ignoring the mountains and expect them to just go away. Face those important tasks first, then you will feel a sense of accomplishment that will give you the drive to tackle all other tasks with vigor.

“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day. If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it’s your job to eat two frogs, it’s best to eat the biggest one first.”

– Mark Twain

Don’t forget, the frog must be eaten anyway, you may as well get it over and done with.

What are those tasks you have a problem getting done? Will you like to talk further about them? You can contact me and I’ll be glad to help you through.

Have a productive Tuesday.

I saw these words somewhere and it stuck to me:

“Don’t wish for it, work for it”

It’s another Monday and the beginning of a new week; as a matter of fact, the first Monday in a new quarter. In my Hello April post, I tried to bring words of encouragement about perseverance even when you feel like giving up.

The last quarter is gone and you can only work with what you have within your grasp. My son asked me the other day:

“Mummy, what does ‘if wishes were horses, beggars would ride’ mean?”

I paused for a few seconds before giving him an explanation he could understand:

If you could achieve your aims simply by wishing for them, life would be very easy.

How very true!

In this new week, you can’t afford to merely wish – you need to accompany that with doing too. Turn your dreams into reality by ensuring you’re getting things done. Don’t just leave things to chance, make positive efforts in the right direction of your goals and desires in this new week.

Don’t let anything or anyone hold you back, you’re indeed the author of your own play, your own greatest motivator.

This week is yours, make sure you own it and shape it into what you want it to be like.

the week is yours

If you have any trouble trying to figure out what steps to take in turning those dreams to reality, you can just contact me and I’ll be willing to help you in the process.

Have a fulfilling week.

Time To Hand In The Result Sheet

As the Easter Holiday winds up here in Nigeria, work resumes tomorrow!

This Resumption also happens to coincide with the winding up of the first quarter of the year.

Where did all the time go? Whew!

Just in case you’re still thinking of getting into the groove of running with your 2016 goals and plans, sorry to burst that bubble. It’s actually time to hand in the result sheet for the first quarter.

What did you set out to accomplish this quarter? How far have you gone with that? Why weren’t you able to get them done?

It’s time to evaluate and make adjustments.

It’s too late anyway to do anything about the things you didn’t get done. What’s left to do is to look ahead and keep moving.

Evaluate+and+Adust

When an evaluation is done, it’s either if two things.

If you’ve happen to come up short, you can feel so dejected that you don’t even want to keep at it or you can decide to adjust the sails and keep going.

I’d advise you to take the second approach. There’s no point fretting over the past, just learn from it.

Also, if you’ve done well from your evaluations, you can decide to keep aiming even higher or you can choose to relax and take a nap. The choice is always yours but you need to set the bar even higher.

So, I’d encourage you to take your evaluation seriously, make adjustments and set your plans for the next quarter in motion.

Wish you all the best in the new quarter.

#Inspired Series #6

Our #Inspired Series for today has been birthed out of the things I have experienced in the last few days.

As usual, I share my thoughts and #LifeLessons with you with the hope that you will be encouraged, admonished and possibly moved to action in certain areas of your life.

Today’s post will revolve around Speaking Up.

In pondering on this, I have come to realize a profound truth.

There are always voices around us speaking. The voices that prevail may not necessarily be the loudest – oftentimes, they are the ones more willing to keep speaking. The loudest voices may get tired and stop speaking. Perhaps, the voices have become hoarse from screaming. The gentlest of whispers may be the ones that remain at the end of the day – as long as they don’t stop speaking.

Today, I’ll say to you:

Speak Up.

Keep Speaking.

Don’t Let anyone shut you up.

Your Voice counts.

In other news, have you checked out my latest post on Huffington Post Blog? You most definitely want to do that.

Check It Out Here.

Thanks to Jacqueline for always giving the cue.

A Brand New Week is here again!

I wrote a short poem a few days ago about Leaving the storms of life on the outside. I was going to write an article at that time, but for some reason, as soon as I sat to do that, a poem flowed out instead. I started writing that post about a month ago, but I left it in the draft with only the title written.

[See Leave It On The Outside Here]

I was prompted to write that piece because of a certain experience I had a few months back.

I had gone to a certain office to resolve some issues. I met another woman there – a friend – whose issues had been resolved to a large extent but just needed to tidy up some loose ends. When we got talking, I was telling her about how God had shown up for me in times past and that fact gives me confidence that this other matter would be resolved in good time. I was encouraging her all through that period when we had to wait for the person in charge to attend to us. At that time, she didn’t realize that my matter was far from being resolved while hers was almost completely resolved. She was surprised when she asked and I told her how far I had gone. She just could not believe that I could be so much at peace in the midst of all the issues. She looked at me weird you know.

She said to me:

“Thank you for encouraging me to trust God more. If you can be so much at peace in the midst of this storm, then I can learn to be at peace too”

This taught me a valuable lesson.

It’s not the magnitude of the storm that sinks a ship, it’s the ability of the ship to stay afloat. It’s never about the storm, it’s always about me.

This Bible verse below sums up the idea behind this.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

– Phillipians 4: 6-7

You know this scripture didn’t say that when you present your requests to God, you will get immediate answers – that’s not what it promises. It simply says, just by presenting those requests, you can just surrender it all to the Master. That’s when you have peace. Giving it all to Jesus means you trust Him with the outcome of the situation, no matter what it may be.

As you navigate the waters of this week, keep Jesus at the center. Don’t let worry and panic take center stage.

Have a peaceful week as I leave this song with you.

Perfect Peace By Laura Story

#Inspired Series #5

A lot has happened to me between the last post on #Inspired Series and now. It’s amazing  how much can happen in one week. As usual, there’s always a lesson to glean from all that life brings our way.

Today, stay with me as I share my #LifeLessons with you. Today’s lessons will be centered around Diligence and Consistency.

This quote by William Penn sums it all up:

Patience and Diligence, like faith, remove mountains – William Penn

Jacqueline’s Thinking Corner always pushes me to Think.

Keep at it. Soon, something will give.

Enjoy the rest of your week.
